Hello all.

New to the concept so I thought I'd ask here. I'm looking for an alarm system that requires no monthly plan. I want it to send us a "notification" if;

1 One of the doors is opened. I have wires run to each of the doors now. Due to long distances, I don't think wireless would work.
2 Motion detector goes off. Though I would like to be able to turn off that feature if we leave with our dog at home. Wireless would be best
3 fire, wireless would be best

We have a concrete home, floors, exterior walls and roof. We have a sprinkler system with approx 30 sprinkler heads. So not to worried about fire.

Anyone have a system like what I'm wanting?

Barking dog?

I think most alarm systems will tweedle at the keypad when a sensor is activated. Simplysafe and several local providers operate this way- no alarm is sent/dispatched without the monthly plan.

We have simplysafe and have used several others personally.

I realize I am responding to a very old post but I would look at home automation to do this. Personally I would choose a zwave system like Vera. Zwave uses a mesh wireless infrastructure so distance is likely not an issue within the same building. one sensor forwards signal to the closest and it hops the shortest path back to the head. You can even get a plug for your outlet just to act as a repeater if you do have a problem spot.

I actually use Frontpoint security which is a wireless self installation for $43.00 monthly so that they respond to the alarm.

For the motion situation with the dog, you should be able to arm stay instead of away which arms entry points but not interior motion. We have small dogs and they do not trip the motion sensors.

Do you have WiFi in the house with good coverage? Something like Blink cameras might work. You can set them up to detect motion and upload a short video to the Blink Server and you get a notification on your cell phone whenever that happens. No monthly contract/charge.
I use Blink cameras along with my alarm.com monitored security system.
