Just got this tractor. Battery was bad put a new one in it and it seems to be a hard starter. I finally got a pull start and tractor seems to run great. Question is how to make it start easier. There is a glow plug indicator on dash that lights up after key is turned backwards for several second. Could the glow plugs be bad. Also i see fuel leaks in the return line at top of injectors. What else can i do. How do i time a deisal and what should the compression be.

I will try to help. I do have a beaver but haven't started it in a few years. I do remember it did not like cold weather very much. I would hold the plugs on for about 30 seconds hit the starter and if she didn't hit fairly quick, I would cycle glow plugs for another 30 seconds. Sometimes it would take three or four tries, but it always fired off. As far as the fuel leaks, I would repair those as soon as I could. Timing should not be an issue. I do have a service manual somewhere and could look up compression for you providing I can find the manual. Mine was starting to burn a little oil but not bad. I broke the output sector shaft on the steering box and that is why I parked it. Great little tractor! Enjoy.

Hey thankyou. I ordered the oem service manual
Also when i got home i turned on glow plugs and when the indicator was clear i counted 30 second and after some cranking it took off. So that was a big win win there. So now i will try usi g the glow plugs more then once to see if i can start it easier( less cranking). It does run great now to fix the little things here and there

Have a Mitsubishi MT180D, very similar to your s370d, good tractor.
IMHO ranks with Kubota quality.
As to cold starts, mine is plugged in with block heater and I also re cycle the glow plugs when it is very cold.
I am also in the process of adding power steering (when I find the time) and have most components on hand to do so, (LOL like 3 years now).

The Mitsubishi needs to be glow plugged even when it is warm out. I can supply the major components to add powersteering.

Compression should be 455psi, but it should start and run fine down to 375psi ive been told.
