TYM 654 glow plugs

I've got a TYM 654. Anybody got one? I'm wondering how to turn on the glow plugs. I've got the icon on the dash, but nothing I seem to do turns it on other than when I cycle the key and it comes on with every other light in the bulb test cycle. Even at 0 degrees, the Duetz starts.

Have you tried turning the key left (accessory position in a car)?

I did. Although I just figured out it did that. No glow plug light.

on mine I turn the key on and all the lights turn on, then they turn off and then they glow plug light turns on for 10 seconds.

Mine doesn't do that, they all turn on, they all turn off. But, the tractor always starts.

MY 2024 T754 is the same way.
We were in the teens and low 20's a few weeks ago in SW MO. and it started ok, it did seem initially that it was slow to crank, but then fired right off.

It's the only thing I dislike about this tractor, the lack of gauges!

As for a temp gauge, there was a solution posted months ago but the gauge they used is about $300.

Brandon Seidel recently posted a more economical version and I've ordered the parts to install one like he did, the connector is going to be a few weeks though. I believe he is Seidel Ranch on here but hasn't been active for a few years.

Some of the glow plug relay setups have thermal switch built into them, and they won't latch unless it gets cold enough.

If 0 isn't enough to trigger such a thermal switch, I don't know what is.
I installed an aftermarket temp gauge. More to know when it's up to temp than to see when it's overheating.

What model is this for? I don't recall it in my manual for the T754

I found it in the owners manual for the T654 on the TYM website. They list most if not all current owners manuals there

This is the procedure from the T754 manual. It looks basically the same as the T654.
