Oil & Fuel Satoh Bison 650G questions.

Hello. New member here. I just bought a Satoh Bison 650G with a front end loader. I am needing to know how to check the PTO oil and transmission/hydraulic oil and fluid levels in it. I see filler caps but no site glasses. When I pull the filler caps don't see any oil inside. I also read online somewhere about checking the governor oil in it. I also need to know what type of fluids to add to it. I am looking for another Satoh 650G owner with info. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome
The site The Satoh S650G Bison Tractor Information Resource will give you all the fluids and capacities.
The governor has a dip stick on the fill screw. The drain hole is right straight below it.

The trans/pto uses 80/90 gear oil filled to the plug by the left foot board.

The hydraulic Filter is on the right lower below the seat. Big plug is filter little one is drain plug

Thank you Lee for the info and great pictures. It all matches mine exactly except there is no drain plug beside the fluid filter on mine like there is in your pic. I will look further for another drain plug tommorrow. You have been most helpful, thanks so much.

Glad it helped. If you take out the filter plug it will drain...trust me...lol

Thanks for the informative web site on the satoh mitsubishi. I have a mitsubishi Satoh S650G and a satoh Bison. The Bison I just purchased here recently. Lots of little things to take care of. My question for you? The web site previously mentions as to the capacity of the governor housing. States " .04L or .0704 pt. . I know this is a small amount, but in laymans terms about how much is this?
Perhaps how many thimbles full? I realize add some then check the dipstick.
This is my first post so please be patient and bear with me if you would.

Everything is in metric sizes, so you have to run the figures on a converter to get our civil figures!---I have an s-650-g also and they are good tractors,---just hard to work on! thanks; sonny580

I use a syringe to measure and fill my governor. Book says 40cc and with my syringe I am full with 50ml.

By using an online conversion chart you can convert liters to ounces. 0.4 liters = 13.5226 ounces. So that is just slightly over 13 1/2 ounces. Hope this helps and good luck with the new Bison 650G. I love mine, its a sweet little tractor!

Twoshoes, I'm new on here and right up the road from you. I've recently bought what I believe to be an '8?'s s-650g with a Woods finish mower and grader blade on front, and while I've had a bit of minor problems it seems like its a solid tractor. What year is yours, pics?
