Spreader Salt/Sand Spreader

Need supplier for tractor mounted .. three point hitch sand and salt spreader that can handle -- SAND or SALT .. no mix.
I'm told that an agitator will be required.

We've sold lots of the Curtis Spreaders... -without agitators- that works real well with 4 to 1 salt sand mix.

But today, we have customer that wants to use SAND only.

Curtis has a large HD unit with agitator for trucks.. but not tractors.

I'd appreciate info for a vendor/mfg that may have one for a small tractor mount.

Steve, have a look at the Vicon line. Heavy duty units that will fit most compacts. Click on the Vicon logo. They don't show all of what's available on the page but I'm sure they could provide more info.

Steve there are companies that make add on vibrators also. I know of a few plow truck guys that added them to there large sanders to vibrate the mix down into the spreader quicker. Not sure of the brand names but could find out if it would be useful.

100% satisfaction? You should know as well as anybody that not all equipment will leap tall buildings in a single bound, stop a speeding bullet etc. (even though the salesmen says so) But from what I have seen from the guys that buy the Vicons,they're pretty close.......

I have been using a Baltic Baltomatic model 80 for the last 5 years, doing exactly what you intend, spreading salt and sand. The unit is about ready for replacement, but has more that paid for itself. I'll but another if I don't move to doing the snow thing with my truck.

One thing to remember, you will need to increase rpms just a little from idle prior to engaging pto. If possible, slowly engage pto to eliminate twisting auger like a pretzel. I made a couple of mental errors over the years, and high rpms plus rapid engageing of pto = maintenance.
