Glad your oil result was a good one.

Nice plow, looking forward to seeing a picture of a plowed field!

Surprised you don't have more snow on the ground. I still have 1.5 feet. Guessing it'll be here for another month.

I've got plenty still on the ground! Problem around here is that the stuff never comes straight down, it always comes in from the side! So what you are seeing is a bare spot and some areas that were cleared. The stuff that was destined for the area you see in the pics ended up as part of the 20' deep drift about 2 draws to the south!

That makes sense, we get drifting around here too. That's why next year I want a blower for my tractor. I got by using the FEL this year but a blower would have made short work of it.

It would have been nice to have a blower. There were county roads around here that remained open only because of ranchers that had blowers. However, this year was an exception to the rule. We NEVER get this much snow or extreme cold for such long periods of time!

Im not really sure what brand of oil the tractor comes from the factory with, but with only 30-some hours on the clock it still has the factory oil in it. It was 15 below zero when I was out there siphoning oil out of the dipstick tube. I guess my fingers went numb before I had enough oil in the container. That was a real disappointment that they were not able to test for fuel in the oil. Surprising too as I sent their little bottle back 3/4 full and figured that would be enough. That does leave the question pretty open about the low viscosity. I wonder if it is purposely a low viscosity for break in purposes. Like a break in oil?
The next project I have coming up is plowing my field which will be working that engine pretty hard. I'm really tempted to get that oil out of there and some fresh in prior to working it really hard. It may not be finished "breaking in" yet though, so I'd hate to put a bunch of metal into fresh oil right off the bat.

With 30 hours on your engine and having been heated up once I would not be worried about the breakin period.
It should have everything well seated and burnished in.
New oil before putting her to work plowing would not hurt anything.

Do not think he is as far south as I am, I live in the ground NEVER freezes region (North Florida). Grass has been mowed at least once and the garden has been in for a couple of weeks..

I'm new to the area I live at but I think if we want a good garden......we'll need a greenhouse. Even in the summer the nights can get cold.

Lynn, I bought this plow from Twin Falls last weekend. I couldn't believe how nice, warm, and spring like it was there. I got a ways south of Idaho Falls, down by Pokie, and it was a whole different world! The snow was all gone, guys were working their fields, and the birds were chirping. Heck, I even had to run my window washers and clean a few bugs off my windshield! Then coming back north it was like driving back into winter. It was even snowing on me a bit going over Monida pass.

Im so freaking over this POS tractor! Plowing the field today I must've gotten into a soft spot or a bit of a hill where the plow took a bigger bite and the engine lugged down and died. Now it wont restart. Just finishing my 4th pass...so maybe 15 minutes of work. 20190331_113557.jpg

He would have gotten a low fuel light/alarm.

The only time I have had a problem like this is when I forget to push the clutch in or the PTO is engaged. Usually distracted by something or it dies like his from powering out.

Hopefully he already has it started and is happily plowing. :tractor:

I wish I could get in my field. I took this picture just now to post.

Nope, still isnt starting. I let it set for a few hoping that would help and just went and tried again. It died from bogging down. I dont know why it would be hard to start because of that. It turns over like its trying...like a bit faster that it would on just the starter alone.

Dang Lynn, you werent kidding! That is a lot of snow left, especially if you guys have been getting the 50* days we have been getting. What elevation you guys at there? Can't be too much over 5k feet are ya?

It sounds like a fuel problem,
filter? can you check for flow from your filter?
or possibly your fuel shut off solenoid.
I don't know if yours is energize to run or energize to shut down,
but you may be able to disconnect and manually set it to find out.

My house is 6000' elevation. We are only getting mid 30's sometimes low 40's for the afternoon high.

I'm surprised it'll turn over and not start.

Sounds like a fuel issue, maybe shutoff solenoid, do you have a manual plunger on the solenoid you can push in and out a few times?

What a disappointment. I'm sorry to hear you're having more trouble. I don't remember but does this machine require the shuttle to be in neutral?
