Rounded off drain plug

The simple solution to that...("now it's getting old") is to just to stop looking at it.

I totally agree with you. However I would like to get to the point where that drain plug is removed. I now have some investment in this thread and I don't want to see it wasted. Soooo....... I keep waiting.

And I am very sure I'm not the only one!

Yeah many of us are hoping Kando will get back to working on removing the plug and believe he ( Can-Do ) it. :thumbsup:

What amazes me is this post has been around longer than the gestation period of a human being.
A pipe wrench and long cheater pipe for leverage. Snapping off would be a good thing, since now it could easily be ground flat, center punched, drilled and tapped.
Or...forget the tap...drill a hole and use a cork.

I am a professional mechanic and have run into this before. I used to fight these and mostly won.
I stopped...
Had a Mustang 5 speed transmission. with pro grade socket and long pipe it finally broke loose.
Also cracked the case.
After that I no longer took the train plug out to service fluid.
I purchased a vacuum extractor and never looked back.

So... I say try this first and stay out of trouble.
stick the vacuum tube (they have several sizes) down the fill hole or anywhere else and drain it.

you would be surprised at how easy it is to crack cast iron or aluminum
and you will be shocked at how much labor an parts will be to fix it.

search "vacula oil extractor"

If you dont want to buy one take the tractor to a Jiffy Lube or a service place with one.

Even for some reason if you can only get 1/2 of the fluid out. fill it up and run it for a month and drain again.
