Root Rake Build

Small 5 foot root rake I built for my New Holland TC30. We have 20 acers that we are cutting atv trails in with small trees from 1 inch up to about 4 inches. I left bar stock out of center so I can push small trees over then grab roots and push. I have about $75 bucks in everything all the metal was from scrap yard. Built in about 8 hours with a mig welder, metal chop saw and plasma cutter. Weight is 300 to 350 lbs. What do you all think?

Here are the brackets I built to hook it onto the loader. Next project is going to be building a quick attach system for the loader so I can run skid steer attachments.

Nice project with good build quality. If you added #9 mesh to the top section why not add it to the lower section? Let us know how it works for you in the brush and trees.:thumbsup:

I added the mesh to the top to protect from limbs getting my hydraulic cylinders and hoses. If I have problems with limbs on bottom I may add mesh. I want as much dirt as possible to go threw the tines. One area I expect I may have to add some protection is there the lift arms connect I'm afraid limbs may get caught up in that area, only time will tell if I need to add 1/4 plate there for protection. Here it is set up on my TC30. Plan to use it to clean ATV trails. I also just bought another six acers with tons of little trees 1-2 inches in diameter. I will bush hog them then run rake over it and clean roots and put in food plots.
