I use truck hoods with a downturn on the front. I put two eye bolts spaced evenly from the center and
attach a chain. I use it with a clevis hitch.

shows how I built a sled out of 1/2" plywood and a 2x6. I moved a bunch of rocks with it, I estimate the biggest was around 3000 lbs.
