kubota L1500
My little 1500 Kubota has developed a loud roaring type sound when the pto is engaged with the cutter hooked up,it does not make this sound when engaged without an attachment.Has anyone else ever experienced this or have a suggestion as to what it may be going or gone bad?It runs and pulls great other than that.I hate to just start buying parts and experimenting if someone may have an idea on what is causing this.

Hook the cutter up to another tractor, if the noise follows the cutter,,,,,,,,ya know.

Have you looked under the cutter to see if something has wound itself around the blades?

Yea,I have checked the cutter out and its fine and runs like it should behind another tractor, since this post I have even developed the same sound from all the low speed gears but still quiet when running in a high gear.this is without using the pto just while running !Beats me ,I am starting to fear that I may have some serious gear problems somewhere in there but its strange that its happening all the sudden like it is.

Have you drained the trans/diff oil to check for debris? Sounds like a bearing gone.
