My 1986 ford 1310 had the 12 X 4 Syncromesh shift 3 on the tree (steering shaft) 4 ranges and it was meant to shift on the go. If I am not mistaken the 20 series Fords 1120, 1220, 1320, 1520,1720 and 1920 were hydro trans. and as stated before no brakes on the front wheels.

1920 could have a 12x4 or a 12x12

tractor brakes on fronts are rare, especially n older machines... if 4wd, you get braking action thru driveshaft, if engaged...

I stand corrected! Never have seen brakes on the front but yes you do get some braking action through the drive shaft as long as the front axle is engaged.
