Replacing gate with ramps.

I'm lookin' for some advice. I have a 16 foot PJ landscape trailer,the mesh gate has the tractor on too much of an incline and backhoe catches the ground going on trailer[ I've raised and angled the backhoe,it still drags,not as bad]. I've looked at gate extenders or aluminum ramps,the ramps are far away purchased online and shipping adds on more. The mesh gate should be stronger as a ramp,also I have to put machine all the way forward to close the gate. I had a subcompact, but got a compact and it uses the same trailer. Thanks,plowking

Replacing the mesh gate with ramps with reduce your drag, plenty!!...

I just built a set of ramps for my dump trailer.
They are 6' long, 3" channel with 2X2 angle for rungs.
They are heavy, orginally I was going to remove them each time, I rethought the plan and made them fixed to the trailer.

I painted them with aluminum paint, to try and lighten them, it did not seem to help, they are still heavy!

I like ramps vs gates... They are easy to weld up with hd angle iron and some rod...

As a temporary fix for the dragging backhoe, you can strategically place some boards on the ground to be under the tires at the point where the backhoe would normally hit the ground. This should raise it up enough that it doesn't catch anymore.
