Rediculous uses of tractors

How 'bout as a sail? While servicing this tracker a micro-burst from small passing cloud cost me a pretty penny. Well, insurance actually eased the pain a bit.

Gotta ask.. what is that - ie. tracker for what?

Those floppy white sqare things used to be solar panels.
The tracker follows the sun during the course of the day, and parks itself back to the East at dusk. The system powers(750w) a DC pump for drip irrigation in the orchard.

The only "tracker" system I know of is a solar one - except for old satellite systems - they didn't look like PV panels which is why I had to ask :p. Very cool stuff. Replacing that system would've put a nice big dent in the pocket book for sure... ouch...

Wow this thread has some legs (8 years).

I used my tractor to lift heavy pieces of wood onto my log splitter using lifting tongs on my toothbar

Just thought of a "ridiculous" thing I did a long while back. I was burning a blueberry field next to a fellow's house and he came over to talk. Turns out that his dog just died and he wanted me to cremate it. I backed the burner over the box he had the dog in and let it burn for a while. It was out of the ordinary but he certainly appreciated it.

Did you check to be sure it was really a dog in the box? Maybe he just wanted to dispose of some "evidence". :D

It was an open top plastic fishbox. Most definitely a dog.

Beautiful day today so my wife asked me to "clean" the dining room rug. It shampoo it and used the Fel to hang it up to dry. Never thought the FEL would be used like this. But oh well.

Transfered a ton of wood pellets 8 bags at a time from my pickup to my breezeway since I could get closer in to the door with the FEL bucket then I could with the back of the pickup.

Not too crazy, but drove it back for about a mile (about two pops worth).

How about using it to hang an R/C airplane while it's being painted?

Guess this is unusual since I only did it one time in almost 5 years owning Kubotas. I had a friend doing some front end loader work for me. He came one morning and couldn't get the CAT loader off his trailer. The tracks were frozen. He used to kid me about my little Kubota. I told him I could pick up his loader with my Kubota but never had to prove it to him.:) Well, the day his tracks froze he tried everything to free them with no luck. He finally told me to go get my Kubota and bring it down to the trailer. I knocked his tracks loose from the side with the front bucket which loosened them enough for it to drive off the trailer. He never said much after that about my "little" Kubota but I did kid him about it taking a Kubota to get a CAT moving. I also lifted a refrigerator off my truck one time but that probably wasn't to unusual.

Not really rediculous, but I did move a house with my little 18hp today :D

I'm really starting to get used to having forks on the 3pt.

The ROPS on my TC45D is pretty heavy and awkward to rotate back(to clear garage door header). So I hook straps on it to the FEL and have wife lift loader as I am controlling descent of ROPS to the rear.
