About three times this year back when my wife was planting the garden and it was getting dark. I would grab two beers get my b3030 cab tractor drive over to the garden and put on the flood lights so she could see. I would sit there with the A/C on and listening to the radio drinking my two beers watching my wife bend down.
My wife really appreciated the light and never really caught on that I was doing it for me as much as i was doing it for her. Now if I could only get her to weed the garden ,I would be all set.

now thats funny

I once watched a guy plant tulips with his tractor.

He scraped up enough dirt to form a flower bed, threw the bulbs onto the dirt from a sack he had by his seat, and then mashed them down into the dirt with the FEL.

Some of them even grew.

Now I would think this would count as rediculous. Just wanted to see if my little B7100 would lift these old junkers. And NO this is not a suggested way to change the oil or do a brake job its hard on the bumpers. And NO I did not crawl under them to check things out. But it was fun.

Now that is one massive looking counterweight on the back!

I didn't take a picture, but I used my B7100 to lift my large Snap On tool chest (that I just bought at an auction) on top of the rolling cabinet. Four of us lifted it down off the cabinet at the auction, but I was alone when I wanted to put it back on top at home, so a piece of plywood (to protect the front from dents, and a large ratchet strap + my trusty B7100 (with FEL, obviously) and the job was real easy!

I am going to take it back down to remove the mid box (as the mid box makes it too high), so maybe I'll take pictures this time.

:D My wife thinks this is a ridiculous use of the tractor, but to me it makes sense. We have a 1/2 acre sacrifice area covered with compacted screenings that the horses spend much of their day and most nights in. Sometime during each day when they are in their stalls or more likely in one of the pastures we pick the poop. If she does it she uses a wheelbarrow. I use the tractor/FEL, the smart man's wheelbarrow.

I skipped ridiculous and went directly to stupid. I was painting the house and needed a scaffold. The loader makes a crappy place to stand and paint.
And dangerous.

When my brother and I built his 120x60 ft. pole barn, aside from using the PHD on the back of his John Deere 970 to drill the holes for the poles, we also used the loader bucket as a portable "scaffold" when putting the crossbeams up. It wasn't too bad, so long as the person at the controls of the loader was smooth. It was MUCH faster than moving a couple of ladders around. His one employee and I did most of this work, and he (the employee) scared the bejesus out of me twice. For the rest of the day, HE was in the bucket, and I drove the tractor.

Biggest use lately is to pull out the riding mower when it gets stuck in mud. Funny how those areas looked pretty solid...

I had better not say ridiculous as the consequences may be severe. My wife has arthritis severe enough that she can not get herself up from the floor And I can not lift her because of a bad back. One time she tripped out in the yard so I put a piece of plywood on the forks, placed it behind and let her wiggle up on to the plywood. I lifted the FEL until she could get up as from a chair. She swore me to secrecy.   Don't give me away, please.

Getting to see these cute charming little guys makes it well worth bringing this old thread back to life

It's my opinion old thread haters fail to recognize the enrichment such threads can bring to the table.

Right, you just keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.
