At the Wallace Tractor cookout this summer I was impressed (and also wondered why I never thought of it) with the FEL bucket filled with ice and soda as a bigtime mobile cooler. I will use that trick for my summer party in a couple weeks, but there will be all kinds of beverages in there. And the mobile cooler can follow the action...

I love that! My wife and I will sometimes have some late-night fires outside with some beers and/or wine, and I'm constantly running up a steep 20' hill, then 80' of flat, then another 20' of hill to get from the firepit to the fridge in the garage. Those days are over! Maybe I ought to hook my icemaker back up or get some ice cube trays now. :)

After seeing my screen saver, BIL claims he is no longer the lone red neck in the family :p

Don't think it was ridiculous, but it sure was fun. A while back, I needed to paint a block wall around MIL's back yard. Late FIL's giant welding table was standing against the wall. Wife and I tried to drag it out of the way, but couldn't budge it. HEAVY! Then I noticed a couple 3ph lower link pins welded to the inside of the front legs. Backed the Kubota in, hitched up the pins, wrapped a chain a couple turns around the top with the hook on the top link pin. Picked it up and carried it off like it weighed nothing. Wife said she thought that was how he parked it there decades ago, using her old Ferguson. He was a pretty smart old Iowa farmer. Pretty good welder and mechanic too.

Well...........my wife says it is rediculous............
So I bought a B7510 a couple of years ago, convinced her of all the benefits- labor saver and such. But for some reason, she seems to think lazy best describes my uses of the machine.

Seems perfectly normal to use the FEL to move the kids swingset/jungle gym out of the way while mowing the lawn. Don't even have to stop mowing, just scoop it up and place it on the part already mowed....Just have to make sure the kids aren't on it at the time.

The only thing that made her irate, as last summer, when setting up for our son's birthday party- she and my mother had set up one of those gazebo/canopie things out back. Seemed perfectly reasonable to me that i should park the tractor under it when I was done mowing. Apparently, she thought different.

Labor saver....I had a dozen or so 30 gallon garbage bags of old cellulose insulation in the garage. FEL bucket would hold 4 at a time, so- why not drive into the garage, load up and back out to dump them in the pickup truck.......Well, I had to move the pickup truck down the driveway so I could turn around after I backed out........

So- admitedly, I give my wife more than enough reasons......

The part that I love is that he left the snowblower on the back as ballast and there is tons of snow outside. That man wants his garage up ASAP...d@mn the weather!

Tig's Canadian and that was only a few inches of snow. That was probably a summer shot... :D

Best "ridiculous" use of a tractor on this thread yet is for one fellow to sit on, drink beer, and watch his wife bend over. Second place goes to the bucket beer cooler.

Personal "most ridiculous" use? Drive to the closest store for a coffee.

I stand in the front loader while my wife drives down the side of the house and barn so I can clean the gutters!! Beats getting out the ladder!!

Ha! The safety police can't get you on this one :D If the loader drops (not intentionally by the driver, of course  ) you have that gutter to grab on to.

I live up in Mennonite country. Some around here do anything and everything with their tractors. I see people drive every weekend to the local TSC with 2 or 3 riding in the seat and on the wheel wells of their JDs.

Nothing I did, but one time I saw 2 guys using a snow blower as a manure spreader. I couldn't believe me eyes. Perhaps more a 'crazy use of a tractor implement'. I wouldn't want to be the one to have to clean it if/when it clogged.

ROFLMAO!! Better hope the winds blowing the right way. :D

Since people are still looking at this thread, and the question was asked years ago, here's the little tractor icon, just copied and pasted here. Is that stealing?

As long as Mark Chalkley doesn't see it. That's his old tractor and cup. Did you ever read the thread about it :D Him and HARV did a lot of development on the perfect tractor cup, back when this was a much smaller web site :D

All right, this is the hands-down winner as the best sunshade for a tractor EVER! Now please answer the question that everybody is dying to know- is it ROPS certified??? :D

For years now my sons and I took turns standing in the FEL using a chain saw to top the 200' ceder hedge.

Back a few years ago my wife get a new mattress ...it was so thick the moving guys couldn't bend it around the stairs.

We ended up putting it in the FEL, elevated to the porch roof where the guys horsed it on to the deck and then threw the sliding glass doors to the bedroom...

...had a few cars parked on road watching that show by the time they were finished.

How 'bout as a sail? While servicing this tracker a micro-burst from small passing cloud cost me a pretty penny. Well, insurance actually eased the pain a bit.

Just thought of a "ridiculous" thing I did a long while back. I was burning a blueberry field next to a fellow's house and he came over to talk. Turns out that his dog just died and he wanted me to cremate it. I backed the burner over the box he had the dog in and let it burn for a while. It was out of the ordinary but he certainly appreciated it.
