My son Steven recently purchased a used mahindra tractor in need of repair. Model number C4005-DI, Serial number FP677JX. The previous owner said he forced the High/Low selector on the left side of the transmission cover and sheared a PIN. The tractor now only has HIGH range. Other than that (which is a major concern) there are other minor repairs necessary. Any info on trans. repair and year of manufacture by serial number is greatly appreciated.

Nice project. Mahindra dealer or Mahindra website should be able to ID the tractor from the serial #.
Find a Work Shop Service Manual for the tractor. It will be invaluable going forward. At least a exploded parts manual so your son can see how things go together.

Hopefully others on the site will have first hand experience with this particular tractor.
