I like the idea of those land plane kind of implements for making things flat, but I can you put a slight crown on a road with those?

You can, as in it is possible, and it most likely depends on how long it would take with the type of material that you are working with. IMO it is best to maintain a road with a LPGS, but if you need to get that crown, it is best to use a rear blade. I shape my roads using my box blade and rear blade. Maintenance is done with the LPGS.

In my opinion, even a 6 footer may be to wide. Sort of depends on the ground that you will be using it on and how heavy your LPGS is. I have a 60" LPGS that I use behind my 3215 that is ballasted to 5000lbs. It weighs about 800lbs and at times is all the tractor wants. I have a 7 footer that I use behind my 7520 that is ballasted to 12,000lbs, the 7 foot LPGS weighs 1400lbs and if I don't pay attention, will stop that tractor dead in it's tracks.
Lots of variables, I would try to get an industrial or commercial grade 60" or 66" unit if you can find one. If not, a 6 footer that weighs 600-800lbs would probably be good. but a heavy 6 footer is going to be to much for your tractor IMO.

I have a Tufline 7' rear blade that's worked well. It has ribs behind the blade to prevent crimping.
