After being frustrated over the price of new hammers (teeth) for a while. I finally came across a company that can re do them. Bobcat is really proud of their teeth.

I sent my broken teeth to Jonas at Freight Shield | Door Jamber | Carbide Tools | OpTeam Products and he sent them back in about 4 weeks. They look good to be re works and I'll be bolting a few on to see how they last. I plan to mark them to distinguish them from the OEM teeth.

Jonas was good to work with and saved me a good chunk of change. I'll be replacing broken teeth much quicker now instead of running them as long as I can.

Just wanted to pass this along in case it can save any of you guys a few bucks.

Look close and you can see where they welded to build back up the areas that were worn due to running the teeth after the carbide was broken. Now I'll be changing them as they break so this shouldn't be an issue.

Yep.. these are off of a bobcat cutter. I really don't want to quote his prices, but they were less than half of what my bobcat dealer sells the new ones for. He said he can also switch them to planer teeth (must send him a full set to avoid weight issues).

He told me he could do virtually any type of tooth as long as he had a good sample to work off of.

I wonder if they can fabricate a carbide edged cutter bar? I've flipped my cutter bar 4 times, now need to visit a machine shop for new edges. It gets rounded over in only 100-150 hours. When material starts to jam frequently, it's generally rounded over. A long carbide edge would really help. A new bar is $138 plus shipping from Loftness.
Robbie, that's your grinder on the ground.

I've been running several of the re worked teeth now for two weeks. They show no signs of failure or anything unusual. Haven't caused any balance issues on the head.

So far, so good. They have held up to several rocky jobs with no signs of failure. I won't be buying any more new ones if I can help it. I think it's been about 6 weeks or more.
