Let us not forget the Suicide Knob

The Flame decals on the side are back in and would look great, I guess you would have to put them on the side of the hood. Also don't forget the "sex lights" under the dash.

The guys waxing their rims and Armoraling their tires ain't gonna have nothin on you once you are splooging leather conditioner on your tractor wheel !!! ;)

Yep. He's one of us now. Waxman would be proud. No matter what he says, he has joined the ranks of the wheel waxers and tire shiners.

Disclaimer: I have never waxed my wheels or put Armor-all on my tires. But I would if I had the time. And I do have a color matched steering spinner on the steering wheel. So I guess I'm a wheel waxer at heart.

Guys-

Thanks for the kind words and good natured digs. After some thought, I'm really serious about doing this. The leather gives you an added layer of insulation between the frigid (or fryin') wheel and your paws - plus leather gloves kind of "stick" to a leather wheel, even when they're wet, making it a lot easier to maneuver quickly as you realize you're about to put the end of your back blade through your garage door jamb. Don't ask. Of course ... this has nothing to do with stylin' ;^) As for the source, I don't remember the brand, the original packaging is long gone, but I think I picked it up around 1981 or 2 in the automotive section at Caldor's.

Splooging conditioner? No way. But I may just cut the finger tips off of my black leather gloves to complete the GT look.

I'll put pix up as soon as I figure out how and get the leather strapped on. Uh, that didn't sound right.

If fuzzy dice will keep the yellow jackets away from my nose and ears, then I'm totally down with that.

I think curb feelers might be just the ticket for my back blade, based on recent events.

A suicide knob is in the near future. They got a bad rap for badly rapped knuckles, but if you put them on the spoke; away from the rim, then your knuckles shouldn't ever get clocked. I had one on an old Mack Quadraplex I used to deliver framing lumber years ago. It was usually the fourth truck onto the job site, right after the excavators, masons and the mixer were done. That truck, with about eleventy turns lock-to-lock put me in the habbit of always holding the wheel palms up & thumbs out on those deeply rutted, boulder strewn "roads". I'm holding out for an orange one, with that old, brass doorknob shape. On a leather covered wheel it should look real butch.

Flame decals are a bit over the top, but The Plant Manager is into hot rod style, so it might be worth it just to endear her to The Orange Menace a bit more.

Okay, gotta go find the gimp ...

I think a set of baby moons should be OEM :D

Just out of curiosity, I checked and the cover will fit my L3240's wheel. With a little time spent lacing I could have a GT tractor. I think I'm going to do it.

Go for it!

Sometimes I forget to don my gloves, and about 30 minutes into mowing, my hands begin to get raw. That never happened with my previous 2 tractors, so it's the rough steering wheel causing it.
