Might be worth sending them a note about it....you never know till you ask, they might take care of you on it.

It would also not be a difficult repair with a grinder and welder. Any local shop could do it in twenty minutes.

Just placed an order for the 72" version. Should get it sometime next week. I'm planning on using it along with my Befco grader scraper to keep my forest roads clean. We've had a lot of rain this year and the weeds grew too fast for me to keep up with just the scraper, so I used that as an excuse to get the RR.:D

Guarantee you'll never be dissatisfied with your purchase of the RR. You'll be shocked and amazed at how you made it without it. Mine stays on my bucket and I remove it in 2 minutes or less by myself when I need it off and reinstall it in 2 minutes or less by myself when I want it back on, which is most of the time.

 I had a few hours to kill so I slapped on my RR to clear up some saplings and weeds. I took some before and after photo's but still have to go over it again in the morning before the storm comes. Sometime either Tuesday or Wednesday the ground should be dry enough to put on my Piranha so I can level the ground.

so it doesn't do well with leveling the ground?
how about gravel?

The lower teeth on my 68" RR protrude two inches. If you are content leveling in < two inch increments, it will level.

Backdragging with your FEL bucket, without the RR attached, will probably level more satisfactorily, depending……..

Leveling with a Rear Blade, Box Blade or Land Plane will be more satisfactory than the bucket.

RR works better grading gravel because it is a RAKE, sort of, and gravel is more amenable to movement than hard road dirt.

I was surprised by his post. I don't have a piranha and need to see what it is, but I use my RR to level dirt and gravel.

The reason why I am changing over is because I am filling in huge ruts left over from logging trucks. Yes I use my rake all the time to level dirt and gravel but not for digging.

I bought mine to maintain over 700 ft. of gravel driveway , and all I can say is I wished I had bought it years ago . We just had an addition put on the house so I used it to level up the yard around where they backfilled and worked great for that also .

Oh, ok. Thanks for clarifying. I agreee. I dont dig either with the RR. I didnt get that you were digging.

I've been using the two different RRs (2 different sizes) for years to level out my dirt and some small patches of gravel.
I some times go forward into a high spot of clay dirt with lower teeth, fel locked and knock the top off and then back drag on float or locked with lower teeth to final level. Locked can peel a bit more off if needed and float will level to finished grade better.
I some times change angle of lower teeth, fel locked and back drag to cut more down and some times stop and dig with front or/and lower teeth by just angling the teeth and working the bottom of the bucket back and forth with FEL lever and tractor not moving.
I use the lower teeth most of the time but the front teeth can be used for various purposes, not just weed/brush removal. The RR is strong and is mostly limited by weight of tractor and strength of fel. Sure the Pirinha has the same limitations and is very strong.

They are great to level....and the little groves left by the teeth are perfect to re-seed they grass with...perfect depth.

I use mine to clean the roadside ditches of twigs and wet leaves, saving me lots of backbreaking hours of hand raking.

Mine will be here on my birthday next week! (thanks to this thread) I have a LOT of redwood duff to rake up, and a 300' driveway to re-gravel by winter too. I think it will be a nice match to the PTB.
