Thought I would post up some of the adapters I've made for attachments I have that are not quick hitch compatible out of the box just in case anyone is looking for ideas on how to build one. Lots of ways to do it and most people probably just modify the attachment, but I wanted to leave the attachments stock so they could be returned to original condition if desired. This method does result in moving the attachment back 4" or so, but I haven't found this to be a problem.

Subsoiler (Note: I made two kinds, shown are the extended bottom link adapters for when I use this on the loader with the front quick hitch to turn the compost pile. I also have a set of short ones as shown on the overseeder below for when I use it on the rear quick hitch)

Most of these just use 2 x 2 tubing and 1 1/2 x 1/4 bar stock, plus some kind of backing plate on the tube to prevent rotation, like whatever thick scrap I have available.

The one on the carryall uses angles to prevent rotation.

Now in a few weeks, we'll see places like Everything Attachment, Big ToolBox, and others start offering these.

I will take that as a compliment. I don't know, haven't seen much response on here, maybe nobody else thinks they are a good idea? Not sure how feasible it would be to try to market them because they are custom designed for each attachment and my specific quick hitch setup.

Anyway, I just threw them out there to give people ideas. When I start designing stuff like this, the first thing I do is look for pictures of what others have done (including what might be commercially available). However, I didn't find anything for these so I guess they are an original idea.

What I can't figure out is why nobody offers a loader-mounted quick hitch like you see in the last picture. I couldn't live without mine and I think they could make a fortune selling them both for skid steer and JD pin and hook loaders.

a QH is a great tool for a tractor. So many attachments are not QH capable. Your insight and skill set adapts to remove the difficulties.

I think it's a good idea, especially if it works. I have a question on your sub-soiler. I thought the lift pins and the top link were supposed to be in a vertical line with each other. Is that working ok? I have a sub-soiler, rototiller and finish mower to adapt.

I gave up on the quick hitch. Seemed like every time I changed implements it was either put it on, or take it off. Plus, some of the implements that were supposed to be compatible were not. It was more work than it was worth.

RE: Subsoiler - right, the pins would normally be lined up vertically. The setup in the picture was made so I could mount it on my loader (with a quick hitch on the front, see last picture). The idea is that I can reach over my compost pile and "stir it" with the subsoiler.

The problem is, the front loader mount won't tilt back far enough for the subsoiler to "dig" properly, so I had to make make the the lower pin mounts longer to get the angle of the dangle right. I also have normal lower pin mounts for the subsoiler for using on the rear three point as it was intended.

Will try to get a piccy of the front-mounted subsoiler on the machine for reference.

The concept is you modify offending implement once be happy with QH forever.....

or just get a Pat's quick hit and not have to modify your implements and be happy forever

To each their own, but personally, I would not be happy if I had to get off the tractor every time I wanted to pick up an implement to move it or to pick up my carryall. Also, would not be happy if I had to line up the pins every time rather than just back up to the attachment and raise the hitch.

I have three point stuff on the loader all the time and no way to do that with a Pat's system either, but the loader mounted quick hitch makes it easy.

Everything I have is quick hitch compatible and I couldn't imagine going back to the old system.
