PTO Hydraulic Pump

50 gallon? How about 10-15?
10-15 If you are running about 5-10 gpm. Rule of thumb for mobile hydraulics is 1.5-2 times the flow of the pump for tank size

Typical design is 2X pump gpm with a cooler.
My PTO 20 GPM Prince pump has a 15 gallon tank and it works just fine with NO heat issues, so I'm sure 20 gallons would be plenty IF all the piping, valves and hoses are sized for a 20 gallon pump.

IF not, then there will be a lot more heat in the system to get rid of...

Motors create a whole lot more heat than running a few cylinders. Do your homework (sizing components) before you start spending $$$.
You'll end up with a great mower.

You should also have a cross over relief between lines so when you kill the PTO the mower doesn't have to stop instantly. That can over pressure the lines or cause other damage.

Just occurred to me that the cutter may already have the crossover built in to it.
