PowerGuard Protection Plan

I received a letter from JD today informing me of this warranty extension plan. Does anyone have any experience with it? Like cost/benefit?

Based upon previoius experience with extended warranties, I'm skeptical of their worth.

I got the offer as well. My quick reading of the offer was that the protection was only for the powertrain and its components, whatever that means. And the warranty was only for JD part/assembly failures. I want/need protection their failures and MINE! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Seems like the bet with this warranty is will the JD powertrain fail because they assembled the powertrain incorrectly or the parts are bad. Seems like a bad bet to me....

But I could be wrong since my Chevy has a rebuilt tranny, engine problems, and a new clutch. All in 73,000 miles.... I'm very glad I bought a heavy duty truck...... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Maybe I should get the PowerGuard..... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
