My two cents worth: I mostly use PS in my Dodge because it is relatively cheap and readily available adding about every other tank. Never had a problem with it even while living up north. I have tried plenty of other additives and never noticed any earth shaking differences.
I hang onto the fuel injector cleaner containers that I buy for my gas powered vehicles. After I let them dry out, I set a bunch of them up and pour my diesel additive into them from a measuring cup and a funnel. It sure is easy to grab one of those bottles and dump it in the tank while at the pump rather than fumbling with a jug.
My fuel gauge quit working years ago in the Dodge so I top off around 400 miles on the odometer. I may be plus or minus on the amount that I add but not by much.
My tractor fuel is a different story. My useage can vary so sometimes the fuel sits awhile in my 100 gallon tank. For that application, I use
fppf Total Power. fppf makes several different formulas but I never tried the others.
I had an older gent at a former tractor dealership that really knew my older Case very well. He was the one who recommended the fppf to me.
Howes is usually available at most truck stops. Truck stops tend to be pricey but if you happen to get in them regularly, they do have it on special quite often.
I hear plenty of people rave about Stanadyne additives even claiming better mileage. One of these days I need to pick some of that up.
PS makes that 911 version in the red bottle for emergency use. I never had to resort to that myself but I know others that have and they say it got them going again.
