anyone know what i could use to polish the scratches out of the glass on some sunglasses?? the scratches are from the glasses ending up with the glass facing down, and then sitting there in the glove box..

If the lenses are prescription lenses, you should take them back to the optometrist. Trying to polish them yourself could screw up the prescription. Even if the lenses aren't prescription, I'd at least call an optometrist to find out what they might suggest. You could end up scratching them even worse than they are.

If the lenses are a plastic, don't waste your time. You'll spend more time and money trying to salvage the glasses than what they're worth.

It may not be possible. Most lens are plastic these days but this is not the problem. Many pairs of glasses have a special anti-reflective coating applied to the outside of the lens. This coating probably is what is scrathed and you will end up removing more of it as you try to polish the lens.

If they are plastic underneath it is real tricky to polish them by hand. We polish glass where I work for optical filters, it takes special machines and several compounds to get things right.

Not saying it can't be done, good luck.

This won't help you, but after sitting on a pair of $120 sunglasses I bought a clip that holds sunglasses and attaches to your sunvisor. Get it at Sunglass hut or another place like that. It's about 5 bucks, much cheaper than new shades /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
