Pole Type Hedge Trimmer Question

[Kubota 2007]

I have Christmas Trees that need trimming. Most are 8' to 10' tall. I see Sthil and Shindaiwa sell pole extension HEDGE TRIMMERS, my concern is the opening in the being large enough to accept the limb of an evergreen tree. The trimmer I have now is a Husqvarna hand unit, the opening on the blade is 1". Any information will help. Thanks Ken

Have you seen the pole type small chain saws they sell for trimming..I think they have gas powered and cordless and they go as high as 14 feet as I recall on a telescoping pole that comes with it..
