I am close to purchasing a B1700 with loader and 60" MMM. It's a hydro transmission with power steering. The dealer wants $10,900.

This machine is totally MINT with 100 hours and 7 months left on the warranty. Not a scratch on it. Looks brand new. In fact, I don't think an impliment was even attached to the PTO. Evidently, the owner moved and didn't need a tractor even of this diminutive stature (that seems a little far fetched but totally possible :) ).

I think $10,900 is a pretty good price (after I negotiated down from his original $11,300) on this machine, but I wanted some sage advice from all the good members here. What do you think?

My feeling is that even after a few years of using the machine and taking care of it I will get nearly everything back if I sell it (that's IF I wanted to sell it...)

I appreciate this community. I have learned so much here and feel that my decision making will be far better now that I have read so many posts etc.

By the way, I live in vermont (if you couldn't guess) and I will be using the tractor for some moderate landscaping, gardening, snow removal, mowing and driveway maintainence.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome Vermontgolfnut
I'm not sure of the price right now but, I would possibly compare to the going price for a B7500 with loader and mower.
I have a B1700 and am very happy with it.
The advantage the 1700 has over the 7500 is that the 1700 has possition control on the 3PT.
The disadvantage of the 1700 is the low PTO HP. If you plan on using Pto powered equipment that is pushing the limits of the Pto, ( snow blowers, tillers) I would probably go to a higher HP machine.
I have never lacked power, and have done a lot of work with the loader and 4672 Back Hoe, but I do not run any PTO powered equipment except the BH,and that is just running the independent hydraulic pump.
In about 99-00 I bought my B1700 with r-4's loader and 4672 Bh with 90 hours in new condition for about
$ 15,000. Good Luck and again Welcome.

Sounds like a pretty good price. Just sold a B1700 with 260 hrs. MMM no loader for $8000.
