Maybe I'm not doing things right, but I'm not able to clear underbrush like you all are. It just seems to push things over, but not tear anything out. It does seem to work better if I have some heavy ballast on the back. I have a bx2380, with r4 tires.
I am new to the fel, my old Kubota didn't have one.
Any tips?

First job with the Piranha I cleaned about 80' of blackberry vines with some small trees grown up in the middle. There is a definite learning process. I managed go get one 4" diameter maple up by digging in from all four sides and then backing up a couple feet and ramming under the tree. Then wiggle the front of the bucket with the curl. Took a few minutes but finally tore the tap root and up it came. The vines were removed by scooping an inch or two under ground and doing the same wiggle. The job took two days and I did twice the work in half the time the second day after I learned a little.

I can catch and pull out 4 inch osage trees no problem, The honey locust is a different story , have to dig them out. Last week i pushed over a 10 inch pine and popped the root ball right out with the pirrahna. love it.

I've got a 55hp utility tractor with a 48in grapple. Will I benefit from one of these too? I was considering one just for a little extra digging/cutting in with the bucket

Unless you have large machine buckets don't dig well, and compared to a toothbar, piranha works much better

My machine is smaller (40HP) but it is much easier to dig with the PB.

It gives your bucket some tooth and protects your factory bucket edge.

Mine seems to be holding up great and it's just a little shiny from clearing scrub, back dragging and slicing high spots of dry clay we call dirt in Ohio.

I'm on a 4145 so I'll see how a larger tractor works vs the small orange yard ones.
Got my bar last night, got up early to put it on. I work nights so 4hrs sleep is gonna be ruff tonight.
My bucket is a bit bent so getting it on was a task. I got a couple of tabs over the lip, clamped it then drove into a large oak to seat the bar.
I ordered up a gopro because I have not seen any good vids on the bar actually working. Vids to follow

I added one last year to my DX55 with 72" bucket. I did it as much to strengthen the lip as to add digging ability. But it does a great job of both, and shears or pulls trees and brush easily.
