Seeing all these pictures is making me want a huge storm to come right now!!!

We're getting snow right now! There may not be enough to plow by the time I get out of work. Here's hoping.

Sigh... I guess I better get out there and put the blade and chains on the tractor one of these days. Actually I wouldn't mind it to cool down, the yard is tidied up and the skating rink is ready and waiting

I've got a 60" power angle snow blade on my FEL arms on our Power Trac PT425. It only weighs 1500# and still manages to do a great job on the snow. The advantages of a plow blade on the FEL are huge. First, it cannot plug up like a loader bucket. You can stack snow about 2' higher than the FEL arms can lift. Second, you can see what you are doing. A rear blade or blower requires a neck like an owl. You will really enjoy that plow, but you would like it more if it would angle.

I plan on getting my tires filled with RimGaurd and running with my ballast box. I figure as nimble as the 2305 is I can run the snow off the drive kinda driving crossways across the drive. That's what I did last year any way with the BB. But your right plowing backward is not a whole lotta fun.

You may want to weigh your tractor down, both front and rear.
Rob

edit: sp error

Here's my main snow removal tool, it's heated and with new power unit motor and windshield wiper, good to go. I'm thinking about getting a snow push for the 3520's 300cx loader. Maybe a salt spreader for the HPX too.

Front weights, check the Deere site or your dealer. I think you can put 42# weights, probalby around 5 weights.

Who is the TBN member with the Kubota and the Arctic plow that's all tricked-out? (I remember it had flashers on the sides and all kinds of neat add-ons)

I just picked up an Arctic 8' skid steer plow for my M-7040.
I want to put skid shoes on the Q/A mount plate. I think he did the same with his.

Maybe this is the one your referring to..

Rob

Should have known it would be that easy, I didn't realize the front weights would work with the FEL on.

Thanks

4shorts,

You are very talented. I wish there was someone close to me that could teach me to do an 1/8 of what you can.

Keep posting your mods, so I can keep being jealous.

I was asking about weighing down the front end also. I have a brush guard, Plus once the front mount snowblower is on there doesnt seem like there is enough room for a set of weights.

Yes! Thanks for replying 4 Shorts!
I just got my Arctic skid steer plow. I wanted to ask you if you mounted "shoes" to your quick attach mounting plate?
I had a problem with my Q/A plate last year "sagging" down while plowing and scratching pavement.:ashamed:

I already mounted a pair of the old Meyers "disc" type shoes so the Q/A plate & loader arms can't damage the pavement this winter.

Will post pictures soon as I get it together.

When I did the modification I originally just had the skids on the blade but after using it a few times I found that if I didn't pay really good attention to the tilt angle the rear of the "A" frame would dig into the ground. I added two rear skids and it's been the best addition I've made so far. No problems after. Here's some pics.
