I got to thinking as I dropped my gooseneck trailer today that I should pass along something that I do.

I have a five gallon bucket with holes drilled into it that I hang over the hitch to make it much more visible especially to kids. I hang the bale over the safety pin the roll the bucket under the drop tube. The fit is just a bit snug and the hitch ends up just inside of the top of the bucket. Should someone run into it, the bucket will likely hurt a lot less than that hard steel.

I do the same thing. I also have a tendency to walk across the yard at night without a light. I ve walked into a hitch and the ramps to. I have a yellow hydraulic oil bucket with a slot cut into it to fit over the hitch to be visible in moon light. It also helps keep wasps out. I was drivine around the lay down yard in my truck and bumped the hitch one time to.

I do the same thing with all my bumper pull trialers. Just use a bungee cord to secure it. I use cheap $1 2 gallon buckets from Walmart. It has also keep mine and the kids cloths free of grease and grime.
