Pallet wheels

I'm planning to buy casters to attach to pallets or rigged up stands for implements allowing more efficient storage and attachment of implements. I've seen casters in Tractor Supple and Northern tool. Any other good choices. Since most rigs will carry 1000# or less, 4 wheels rated at 250#
each should suffice??

really whats going to happen if you exceed the rated capactiy by a 100lbs? you flat spot or squish the rubber wheels? (go with solid steel ones)

Or not. I much prefer the composite or rubber over the steel. They generally work much better and respond better to direction, at least for me.

Depends on how much gritty stuff you have on the floor when you try to roll things around. Either way, get the biggest diameter you can for the price and the rolling will be much easier.

If I remember, they had six inchers that were some heavy duty composite material that should work.

That is a good idea and those large diameter casters should work great. I envy you that you have a place with a smooth floor to use them. My implements are all stored on my rural property on dirt. I'll make some when I get my barn built with a real floor.

I feel like the center of the storm. Tractor and implements to be delivered this tuesday, slab to be poured following week and steel bldg erected right after than. Lots of things happening. Looking forward to playing with new toys.

I've little lightweight ones on the dolly I put on the front of my brush hog. I've heavy duty castors underneath the pallet attached to my carryall and underneath the pallet that my soil ripper sits on. I had plastic ones initially on the bottom of the carryall, but I kept forgetting to raise it at times, and the plastic ones would get gummed up.

I have made dollies for my tiller and box blade. I used 3" rubber wheels for the tiller and 2 1/2" steel wheels for the box blade. The larger dia rubber wheels do roll smoother. If i had to do over i would have used 3" rubber wheels for the box blade.

I use a Pallet jack, The trucker in me I guess. I personally like Crown Pallet jacks but you can get them a lot cheaper if you go with less known brand and they are just as good. The nice thing with a Pallet jack is I put everything on Pallets. It is real nice to attach implements because you can raise and lower with the jack. I use a narrow fork jack but a 27 inch should be fine
