The issue came up in Texas a few years ago and the State, wisely, declared CHL holder info non public information.
.
two_bit-score that is exactly the a part of the problem.... State by state regulations! Its a patchwork system and filled with gaps! Some may not like it, but I live in NY and we have better laws than most I feel when it comes to this issue. Are they perfect **** NO! But they are better. NYC has the lowest homicide rate of any large city in the US! BTW I'm 3 miles form PA and I'll take our laws over theirs ANY DAY!
A while ago I heard a DEA agent speak to a group of high school students and say this.... "There are a group of students who are never going to use drugs regardless of what I say. I'm not here to speak to you! There are a group of students here who will do drugs regardless of what I say. I'm not here to speak to you! However there are some here who are thinking about it. Can the rest of you please not disturb them while I speak!" I see our current discussion going this way. Some, like myself have NOTHING against most gun owners. However there is also a side of this discussion which does not want to address the GUN itself!
And we need to address the other two sides of this stool. Mental health and gun ownership. To simply state that its it only a criminal problem is OVER SIMPLISTIC! To the best of my knowledge there is no such thing in the US as an illegally manufactured gun. They were manufactured legally and ended up in the wrong hands! That is what we need to stop! And mental health we as a nation need to understand that if we truly value our society its not by protecting health care privacy or guns! America is more than either one of these!
Lets all be respectful!
