Finally got to try out the tracks for our Kioti Mechron we got last March. Put them on (took a whole day) and now it's raining! :( I hate when that happens!

Got a quick trip up into the woods. 10" of snow, didn't even notice it. These are gonna be awesome!:thumbsup:

That's pretty cool!!
How much did the tracks set you back?

Hey Roy, we got them from our local Kioti dealer, but he merely arranged the deal. We were all in at $5,650, which included 13% taxes, so $5k. This is all CDN $$, so that equates to about $3,500 US. The company that makes them, also make for atv's for around $3,900 CDN.

Really cool. Is this something you leave on all year long or switch back when snow is gone? Is it a day job everytime you switch or is that just for the initial installation?

This is a switch out every spring and fall. I could have bought a good used snowmobile for around the same price, but I hate having the side by side sitting here unuseable in the winter. (it`s useless in snow) Its like a pickup for the woods, being a 900 CC diesel engine, it can haul anything anywhere. I have a DR Versatrailer that I use with it and together, I can load and haul a single cord of firewood at a time. Now I can use it all year long.

That was the initial install, so now that everything is setup and adjusted and I kinda know how to install it, 3 - 4 hours should switch things around. Assuming I remember from season to season!

Hey Murph, we just finished two days of rain here, but over the next few days, they`re talking about a few inches of snow again. I`ll scrape together a video or at least some pics of it climbing mountains of snow (if we ever get any).

I'd love to put my RTV 1100 on tracks. Yours looks great. Cabin and Heat are the rest of the pie. HS

Not sure where in Eastern Ontario you are but here, all the weekend rain (30mm), is now crusted on top of whatever snow did not melt. Still no frost in ground below, though, so leaving deep ruts when broken through the snow. I would look into tracks for my next UTV as it WILL HAVE power steering.

Hi, glad to find you. I am in the process of maybe buying a new Mechron 2200 with field cab for plowing in the winter. I see that with the track system you say is useless in the snow and I am wondering how or why you say that. I thought a track system would have alot more traction etc than tires. Is your track 4 seasons or just summer just curious to see if it is worth for me to invest in a track.
Thanks
Gilles

Gilles, He's saying before he put the tracks on it was useless and it just sat all winter.

Sorry wassup I read the post a little late. I am looking into maybe putting some all season tracks on my Mechron to use year round around the property and in the bush. Depending on the price and how much of a hassle to put them on and off for an old man
Thanks
Gilles

Does anyone here use their Mechron for pushing snow? What tire do you think would be best for traction in the snow. I wonder if the guy who has the track on his Mechron plow snow with his.

I'm in Eastern Ontario, going into the first deep snow of the winter and realizing our 2020 Mechron PS is hitting its limit as a trail-grooming vehicle. Do you still have your Mechron and the set of tracks? How have they worked out for you?
