Thanks. That's actually not too bad of a price. I have been thinking about a barn / multi purpose building about that size. Way off in the future, maybe a year. You're making great progress for sure!

I was quoted $126K for a modular / prebuilt, raised center aisle from a local company, with about 15 months of lead time. The metal buildings I had quoted were $40K to $60K, without site prep or concrete. Some of that was simply timing: Absolute peak of the building marketplace, with high material prices and low labor availability.

Fiscal issues aside, this is something the wife and I have been wanting to do for a long time. It's hard on an aging body that's accustomed to sitting at a desk most days. It takes up a lot of free time. But we find it satisfying.

You're doing an awesome job on it and inspiring others. I know you've inspired me. I look forward to your updates!

This makes my new 40x56 for $77k seem… pricey 😳

Doesn't seem so to me. I don't even want to think about the dollar value of how much labor we've invested, and have yet to invest.

Just a matter of preference, priorities, and in some cases, necessity.

That makes me feel a little better. Fact is, I fly for a living, and I certainly don’t have the time to work on a barn build while at home. It’s enough to keep up with keeping 8 acres tamed, the apiary, and spending a little time with my kids.

Someday maybe… when I no longer fly, and the kids are on their own.

The dollar value is exponential to how much work you do yourself! You could easily double if not triple the cost if you subbed it all out!
Keep at it.... you're saving money every minute you're working
