I wonder how many people have bought and use either of these products and might offer an overall opinion. I was planning on the Lowes one but then found the tractor supply.around here the tractor supply is about 10 dollars difference. Not much of a concern...Just wondering how dependable each one is. (this is replacing a 38 year old Craftsman that only ever had a belt replacement) (well built!!) thanks

DeWALT 6 Gallon Air Compressor 155 PSI, DXCM61 at Tractor Supply Co.

The dewalt has a far better review score. That's about all I can say. I've transitioned off of air. Everything I could do with air around the house I can now use battery tools. Quieter, less maintenance, more portable.

Kobalt is 2 stage I would rather have that myself. I assume that is why the 175 psi rating
Dewalt just has 2 cylinders

I would think either would work. I would go with the Dewalt based on the reviews.

How many cfm do you need, and at what psi do you need it?

That is the question the OP must answer.

The rest is just "How much does a pile of horse feathers weigh?"

Good point. I have gotten by with just around 120 or 130 PSI for years even able to run the tire machine. But I feel more PSI would help with that tool.I think either one would be enough CFI I only had a shortage of CFI when I had a sand blaster. I don't use that much if at all. And actually I plan to put also have my old craftsman inline also.So would think that the two running on a rare occasion would be fine.

Heck just fixing all the leaks will help. LOL

One has a longer warranty than the other as well. Something to consider.

You can spray automotive paint, or sandblast with "battery tools"?

The Kobalt is two stage, has good reviews, and puts out 11 cfm at 175psi.
That is 20psi. more than the DeWalt, meaning your air supply will last longer before the compressor must restart.
If you are a veteran, when you buy this compressor from Lowe's you will get a 10% discount.

Neither of these is anywhere near the same quality as a 5HP Quincy Pro, but neither costs $2200+ either.
