Wow summer flew by and fall will too, revisiting getting a front blower for our XR4140HC, we have a long enough driveway (800') with alot of areas to clean, have been using my F350 with a 8'5" V Blade which works fine but is a PIA to turn around and make tight corners with in yard by house, we get alot of drifting and have alot of areas to clean. Last year was terrible as we had snow piled to the height of my P/U about 50' deep and ran out of areas to push it too. I am away quite a bit so My wife has to clean yard so I am going to break down and get a front blower, after yard is packed down it will be easier I think other than slower

I'm going to be using a combination of plow and blower this year. Lots of local guys telling me how slow it's gonna be blowing all my parking and driveways, while ignoring all the benefits. I pretty much have winters off, and with a cab, who cares if it takes a while!

Good luck to you and the wife!

Lots of snow, tight areas to navigate, driveway berms to clear - a blower is nice. Yes, it's slow but it DOES move snow out of the way. With my first tractor - Ford 1700 - I used a blower on my mile long driveway when the berms closed in. Now with the Kubota M6040 - the heavy rear blade keeps the driveway and all other needed areas open. Fortunately, I never get great heaps of snow and have no drifting.

I also figure buying this would be a guarantee that we don't get much snow, so I will be passing the hat for creating a easy winter

I plow with a v plow on an F350 and then use a blower on nice days to keep the piles and berms knocked back. Works well

Water skiing?? I never got the skiing thing, my house is 15 minutes either way from some of the best skiing they say, snowmobiling I will miss..

...I dread the thought of snow and ice coming back again. ...really dread it. ..The temps have dropped here over the past week from the 80s and 90s to the 60s and 70s..with dew on the windshields in the morning....tell tale sign of old man inter waking up from his nap... I walked by the salt spreader just this morning and thought about getting it started and services this weekend. ... Did I mention I dread snow and ice ?

I can not think of a single benefit in Boston to have snow there other than to make money removing it..

Ridge,

I have the same tractor. Keep in mind the front blower has a rather large subframe and by adding the front blower you lose the FEL unless you want to switch over...not fun.

I bought a Pull Blower and will have a blade on the SSQA. Cost is less than the LS Front blower alone. That will allow me to change over from blade, bucket or pallet forks quickly. It also avoids the issue of storing the sub-frame in my limited space.

How hard is it to remove blower and reinstall loader?
The loader would be easy I think but no idea on the blower

......benefit #2....it covers the filth, that is the streets and sidewalks of Boston....
We were in Boston today, the Mass Ave corner AKA Heroin Mile...had a minimum of 500 used needle caps and countless needles themselves thrown all along the sidewalk, curb and sidewalk... Place is a toilet.

The dealer will tell you it is easy....but he is in a heated garage on a flat surface...and experienced. Have a look at the size of one before you spend the money and if you can, have the dealer show you, or better yet, let you connect and disconnect one he has in for repairs or on the lot.

We are not talking about a little blower on a B series Kubota.

Factor in ice and snow build up. It was not something I wanted to do, and my fiancé would not do it.

In my case, the pull blower will go on in late October and not come off until late April. I can even use my blade and rake with a SSQA plate that accepts 3PH attachments....https://www.amazon.com/Point-Attach...way&sprefix=3+pint+attachment+,aps,245&sr=8-3

The dealer I bought from does not have a blower in stock, I would have to have it ordered. I know a few people that have front blowers on JD tractors approx. same size and they love them, not sure about theirs on difficulty for remove and install
