0 this morning and still no snow. Hopefully, 4-6" coming Wednesday. Our snowshoe hare population is in rapid decline from the lynx and coyote because their camouflage isn't working. Pure white bunny on a brown landscape isn't healthy.
Put the salt spreader in my truck yesterday... found out it's toast. Needs all new bearings, drag chain, spinner shaft, clutch and spinner chains... it's about 7 years old and the past 3 years has been one headache after the other...usually at 2am when I need it to work and it dosent.... so I see a 6k purchase in my near future... I friggin hate winter.

It is all Al Gore's fault. We didn't listen...Global warming is here!!!!!
Seriously though, I am going through more wood than normal. Almost through the first cord already and I normally use less than 5 cords a year. Thought I had enough but it looks like I will need to use a bit more propane this year. Worried about one buddy who may not have enough wood and cannot afford propane. He was supposed to deliver a cord to cover money he owes me, but I told him not to worry about it until next year.
Sixteen degrees with a 10MPH wind this morning in central Michigan driving the wind chill to somewhere around 3 degrees. According to the local TV station last night’s low was 30 degrees below average.
I believe yesterday was the earliest date I have had to plow the driveway in our 48 years of rural living. According to my unofficial patio table snow gauge we received close to 7” and if we believe the local local news, slightly warming temps with more snow forecast.
I think I made the right decision to invest a new down parka this year......
