Hey guys a man I know has an older kubota for sale, he doesn't know the year it was made but he thinks it is about a 1980. the tractor has a 19 hp diesel and a FEL it also has less than 1000 hrs on it. overall the tractor is in pretty good condition. He is asking $3000, do you think that is a fair price for a tractor that old.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the model, time on the engine, 4WD vs. 2WD etc.

sorry about that, I forgot to put in my post that it is a 4 wheel drive tractor

Do you know what model it is? Sounds pretty good to me.... it's hard to find anything 4WD with a loader for that price.

If in good shape, sounds good to me.

I have one about that old and I wouldn't sell it for 3K.

It's a good old piece of iron. The way tractors should be made SOLID and strong.

I let mine sit for almost 10 Years, put some new batteries in it and it fired right up ...with 10 year old fuel in it.

Take the it for spin see how it handles, notice if loader operates smooth, listen for strange noises...3K seems fair.

An inspection will tell the tale.:D

The hours are not significant. It's just barely broke in.:D

There is a fellow in town that has a B6000 two cylinder, one of the earliest Kubotas in the US, who had it surviced after 20 or so years as a precautionary measure. Our mutual friend and dealer said it was fine and needed only a few rubber parts. With just a little care, these things last forever.

Just a general comment on the number of hours on the 80"s Kubota's. It seems that most of them I see for sale have just under 1000 hours, funny how the hour meter on most of them only goes to 999 hours then it starts over. Be leary of the number of hours, I have a B6200 that has 2500 hours on it but of course it shows 500, it could pass for 1500 if I wanted to be dishonest. Keep your eyes open and good luck.
