Re: OK, Let\'s Hear Those Snow Reports!!

JD425,47"Blower. We had 6 or 7 inches of powder. It was a perfect winter warm up. I love the blower. It really throws powder. My driveway is flat so 6-40#suitcase weights + wheel weights give me enough traction with turfs. I was helping the neighbors across the street whose drive is pretty steep and it became clear that I needed more traction. I put on the rubber chains for the first time. They made a big difference and I had no trouble finishing their driveway. It helps to get it done early. I noticed people clearing driveways at noon were having a harder time.

Re: OK, Let\'s Hear Those Snow Reports!!

Well we had about 12" here is PA. I used the 2210 and the 47 blower. I cleared my drive, moms, 3 neighbors. We gets alot of drifts so I will be out later. My one neighbor left a chunk of 2x4 in his drive and I hit it. Parts of it shot out the chute and then the shear pin broke. The pieces almost put out a window in a 2005 Denali so I guess I was lucky. My nieghbors have been my friends for over 10 years and I have always taken care of their driveways and never asked for anything. I called them after I hit the wood and told them they are on there own from now on. They wouldn't have had me pay for it but I would have felt responsible. That opened my eyes to the possibilities of liability. I feel a little bad but about not helping them but the both have snowblowers (walk behind) and the one has a new Outlander 800 quad with a plow! They just will sit in there houses and wait for me to go first. I have to go out for work so I start cleanup at 6:00am they don't even think about it till after 9. I think they were just using me.

Ya think? Sorry to hear that, but yes, sometimes neighbors will do that. Been there, done that too. Glad it all worked out for you. Like you, I get out there early and start clearing. Got 4 neighbors in our little neck of the woods, one has multi businesses, including lots of snow equipment for snow removal contracts with local shopping malls, other 2 have smaller tractors. Never see anyone else cleaning our main drive. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Re: OK, Let\'s Hear Those Snow Reports!!

We had a good 8 inches where I live, with a little drifting in some areas. I did driveways of 3 neighbors, and the parking lot of the little country church near by. Got out wednesday night at around 10 PM and brought some firewood in, and got the tractor ready by putting on the back blade, then put my chains on the front tires. I have a Fel mounted plow, but decided not to hook it up yet... as I wanted to leave the bucket on in case I got a deer with my muzzleloader this weekend. Wouldn't you know , that as I am cleaning my drive , a deer trots right thru my yard. I shut the tractor down , and ran for my gun, etc, but by the time I got the gear , it was long gone. I did a walk by my deer stand, and there were tracks all around it. I had decided not to go to my stand this morning, and to push snow instead. ( I took a vacation day off from work, just to go hunting today, but spent most of the time on the tractor) . Maybe tomorrow? Anyhow, this evening I am sitting around the wood stove, and enjoying the fire, after being out in the cold all day. It sure feels good.

We had about 5 inches here in central Illinois. I used my 755 with a rear blade around home and a few of my neighbors driveways and 4020 with a rear blade at the farm.

8 1/2" here in Lenawee County. 6' RB does the job on our 600' drive, and the neighbors 1000' er and the other neighbor's 800' er, and the guy across the way with the cute wife...used the FEL a couple times to clear mailbox lanes and to make a snowhill for kids. JD 750 pulls like new after almost 20 years.

7-8 inches here in southern York County, PA. Seems like a band of heavier accumulation passed through this area.

Cleaned off my drive and two neighbors drives.

I know it's insane, but I sure enjoy plowing the snow.

Re: OK, Let\'s Hear Those Snow Reports!!

Seacoast New Hampshire, we recieved 12" of snow.. My New 3720 Cab Tractor did a great job... I used both the loader and the 74" Rear Snowblower... worked great.. shoots snow very far... at least 30 to 40 Feet. However, I am waiting for my Rear Wiper Blade and Rear Work Lights to be installed next week.. I desperatly need them... because it was such a white out yesterday sometimes the snow would hit the rear windshield, and just stick there.. made visibility pretty hard.. also, once darkness came it would have been great to have the rear halogens.... I ordered lights and wipers with the tractor but they just weren't ready when I needed the tractor.. But overall, I was very happy with my purchase.. Heater is awesome...it got very hot.. had to take my jacket off, because I needed to keep the Cab as hot as possible to melt the snow on the rear window...

Re: OK, Let\'s Hear Those Snow Reports!!

6" and hardly worth the bother to clear the drive. That's on top of 6" we received last weekend. I used the rear mounted 78" blower for the first time this year, 20 minutes and was done with the 800' drive and the 2 turnouts. I'll mount the double ring chains today if I get a chance.
