A real rookie here! I was cutting tall grass with my Cub Cadet and got a chunk of concrete jammed in the mower blade. I got it restarted and headed to the shop when it just died, dead, no nothing, no power, will not even take a jump! What do I do?

I would suspect your 'safety interlock' system is sensing a problem and shutting down power. I would take the blades off, check the bearings to see if they spin freely and try to start. If that doesn't work, then disconnect the mower and disengage the PTO, see if starts then. Then at least you would know the problem is from the driveshaft to the blades.

hummm well if you got it started to return to the shop that's a good sign imo.

Double check that the PTO is off raise the deck and have a look/see with the engine off try moving the blades and check for any obstructions.

Look for any hanging wires ...because there's a safety switch the requires the brake to be depressed to start and there's a reverse sensor that can TILT in real tall field grass. So look for those 2 safety's.

And let us know what kind of tractor you have so the experts here can zero in.
