Looks like I need new brakes on my 7500lb landscape trailer. I opened them up and they were stuck and rusted. I ordered new brake assemblies. They look pretty simple to put on. 4 bolts and 2 wires each. Any tips?

I am hoping you found http://trailerpart.com/ (Southwst Wheel), ordered OEM "Dexter" parts and not the imported knock-offs.

Make sure the brake facings are in decent shape, they don't need to be pretty or anywhere near perfect but if badly grooved or pitted you could get uneven brake performance and greatly accelerated magnet wear.

Take your time, keep things clean, and make sure you keep the left and right parts strait.

I did go to Southwest Wheel , but did not see Dexter brakes. They had a US set and an import set. I ask the guy who took the order and he said they had almost no problem with either and sold way more of the imports. I bought the imports. What is the problem with them?
