Tractor
Kioti 3520SEH Holland TC29D
It only took 18 months of looking, debating in my head, researching, but I finally bought a tractor. Decided on new vs used, as all the low hour ones here weren't much of a bargain, and I wanted what I wanted, instead of "losing out" just to get a bargain. I got burned on my last used purchase, all on me...
Just brought my EA toothbar to dealer for install. They are swapping out the R14 for R4, as much of my work is loader related. The model I bought has some bells and whistles, some I have no use for, but by adding onto a model that didn't come with the bells I wanted, It was same price, less stuff. I got what I want. Done with upgrades, serious thought on my current use, and future use, I bought what I needed.
The dealer I found has been business for since 1981. I liked the sales woman, parts guy, 1 mechanic, previous owner who just sold and still works there. It's a family affair. I have a great feeling about them. The extended family has very deep roots in the community.
I had a choice of 2 loaders, one made in South Korea (I think) the other in Canada. My overthinking about the bucket tipped the scales (barely) in the South Korea made one. Unfortunately, I live close to Canadian border, and all they receive is the Canadian one. I could have had them look around to see if another dealer has one, and if they are willing to trade. Seriously, it wasn't worth the extra money or wait, they are that close.
I decided on the Kioti 3520SE HB. I ran it through the paces at the dealership. Much more power than what I have now. Tired 29hp and hydraulic system, vs. new, peppy 35hp. My current had options I didn't want to give up. Comfy suspension seat, tilt steering, floor mat (I'm on and off often, all year) were non negotiable for me. Telescoping 3ph arms too. First add on will be a magnetic cup holder, (more research) I don't want to drill into ROPS of brand new tractor. It'll take some time for me to "get over it".

After my wife seeing me a bit disappointed in the current tractor, she said "go get yourself a tractor". We were around friends, so I don't know how serious she was. Maybe she thought, rightfully so, I'd never be able to make up my mind. (should see me at a restaurant) So I did. Wonder how long I can hold out before she knows I bought one?) You guys are the first to know...

Now, just waiting on the delivery. Definitely by next week sometime.

Is the standard cup holder too small for you?

Welcome to the Kioti family, great choice, the CK3520 is really nice. Why swap out the R14's for R4's? That's surprising.

Uhm you might want to tell her before it gets delivered. Some girls are funny about that. Remember when my wife asked me to sell her Moms car I called car max.
She was home for the pickup and we stood in driveway watching the CarMax truck come down the road. Well, here they come, I said.
How are they going to fit it on there with that other car, she asked? Well don't worry I said, that one's for me. :D:LOL:

The R4 has stronger sidewalls, better for the loader work I do. I am only working on my land, no going on roads.
I don't remember seeing a cup holder, just a square-ish looking cubby by left calf. I could be wrong though, blinded by the shiny...

It should be on the right side, behind the remote controls- going by memory.

Is there a reason you didn't go for R1 (ag) tires?

Yes, I will be driving over my grass often to get to various projects. I hired out some tree work, he had brand new tractor with R1. He felt bad about damage and offered to come back in winter.

Tractor delivered around 3:30, believe it or not, I just drove into the barn. It's a tight fit, but doable. I did find the cup holder, but it is sized for a can of... Even cars have bigger cup holder. No worries for me, I'll just buy a magnetic one, and put it in a more convenient location.
No doghouse for me either. Told my wife as soon as she got home. She's thrilled... for me. Tomorrow, I will get it out and get used to it.
Thanks to the crew here that posted all sorts of buying info for all members over the years. It helped me for sure.

I don’t think I’ve ever used the cup holder.

Did you keep your New Holland or trade it in on the new purchase?

Congrat`s OP!
My wife is the one who decides on the new tractors. She has a hard time talking me into buying them, even though she paid for half of the new one we last bought. She loves tractors, and runs both that we have, including the backhoe.

good for you. i never understood the obsession compact forum members have about their cup holders & all the related threads therein. seems we can't operate our tractors w/o the on demand beverage at hand....

also ever notice how the average beverage size has increased multi fold over the decades for Americans?...i never did understand that

If of any help, talking to the tractor manufacturer rep we do business with at least for the size of the cup holders getting larger.
He stated that the new coffee thermos’s with added insulation have wider bottoms. Ppl put all kinds of beverages in these so hence the widening and deepening of the cup holder, at least on our brand.
