New Tractor owner in search of Diesel gas containers

Yeah, having a fill opening 3X larger than El Cheapos, a handle on the top and back, enough room to fill it with five gallons and have expansion space, a window to see fill level, and a vented, metering spout - all "sucks hands down."

I have an el Cheapo from Tractor Supply. If you sniff it you can smell China.
"If you sniff it, you can smell China."

Yep... best one I've heard today.
You are kidding about wanting to try those no spill cans right They suck hands down. I agree with the yellow cans at Wally mart. I sure don't use the stupid pour spout though, way too slow. I use a funnel with a plastic paint strainer in it or my magic funnel if I want to wait for that slow thing .
All in all I can't see anything "good" about the new style cans. They cost too much and only hold 5 gallons. The best cans I ever saw were the Canadian 6 Imperial Gallon cans. Those puppys, a dying species are great and hold almost 7 gallons .

I like the no-spill cans for two-stroke mix. It's really easy not to over fill the tank, which seems pretty common with other cans. I have heard that they changed the design in the last couple years, but the 2.5 gallon can i bought this summer is performing well. I will say that I've had trouble with the o-ring inside the cap getting out of position or falling out entirely. Otherwise, I'm happy with them.

I use the cheap, push spout type for diesel, but I modified them by drilling a hole where the vent is supposed to be and installing a tubeless tire valve. Works pretty good. I hear they don't work with gasoline, though.

I'm not talking about the off the shelf new style carb cans. The no-spill brand mentioned above gets pretty good reviews.

Supposedly you can stick the spout down in the hole and just let it fill till full. As soon as the fuel covers the vent it stops filling so it doesn't run out the filler hole. I might still pony up for one just to try it out on my little tractor since it is the hardest to fill without spilling.

I have a couple of them... Yes they really work and I love them for filling my chain saws or other small engines...

BUT, I hate the bigger ones for filling bigger tanks, they just pour too slow! I guess I'm just use to using a funnel and NO restrictions!

That's ANOTHER reason I like to save/use the 2-1/2 gallon oil jugs, Rotella comes in!

Since my fill cap is way up on top of the hood that thing wouldn't do me any good. The EZpour long spout makes it easy because I just stick the end of the spout in the tank and tip the can over while I'm still standing on the ground. I rest the can on the end of the fork for the FEL so I don't even have to deal with the weight till it's nearly empty. Oh yeah it has a screen in it too.

The no spill cans are awesome for small stuff like chainsaws and weed eaters. I have a small one of those that I really like. Makes it so easy not to overfill.

Now on the bigger cans the no spills are a little slow. I put a lag screw on the top of the regular plastic cans I have opposite the spout and take it out when I start to pour. Works good and is really simple.

Yeah I have a one gallon size no spill I use for my chainsaw, weed whacker and small two stroke machines. It's handy for mixing fuel too.

Just get the Walmart yellow or blue jugs and the high-volume spout kit at Tractor Supply. While I will put K-1 in the blue jug I can also use it for diesel when actively using the tractor to have another 5 gallons handy.
