Try working backwards. What size trailer and tow vehicle do you have? What implements have to be transported with it? That will dictate your maximum tractor size/weight. Don't forget to add any accessories or weight ballast.

If you are planning to get into gravel driveways, the backhoe is needed for culverts. Almost every driveway has one. The BH is an expensive option, but increases capability and still retains a lot of its value over the years.

I have a Toyota Tundra with a 7x18' trailer. 10,000 capacity for each. I could always trade up with either of those though if necessary.

Go with a Kubota L 3901, plenty of power and easy to move around with your truck and trailer. This is why we moved up from an L2501 and didn't go with an MX 5800, too big to easily trailer between the properties. You may find an 18 foot trailer is the bare minimum length and a 20 foot is better. If you need a backhoe, rent one.
