Tried using a 2in piece of schedule 40 on my rear blade so I didn't eat up my gravel driveway when plowing snow today. Driveway is about 400ft and I made 4 passes which did amazingly well then when clearing off the parking pad I notice the pipe had split in half. My guess is it's getting brittle. Does anyone know of another way to put a curl on that blade edge so it doesn't chew up the driveway and lasts? I saw a video someone recommend using black ABS but I can't find it in any of the big box stores in 2in x 6ft only 1.5in x 5ft. Appreciate any help.

I use my blade backwards when the ground is real soft, pushing or pulling.

I'm guessing you used schedule 40 PVC? Not schedule 40 black iron?

Turning around can work, or putting a rubber edge like from a horse stall mat can also take the bite out of the cutting edge

Worth it to use iron pipe, even if you have to pay someone with a plasma cutter to cut the pipe. I used a piece of angle iron as a straight edge to cut mine plus welded tabs front and back to keep it on. It's been on there well over 10 years now.

As LouNY has mentioned to you you should try plowing with the blade reversed
as the blades reversed cutting angle will be such that it will not dig in
the ground.
