Hi all!

My first post as for the first time in my 41 years, I've bought a tractor and "implements"! I'm sure I'll lurk around often and end up having LOTS of questions.

Welcome to Tractorbynet, Michael. And I'd say you've bought yourself a nice tractor and some good useful implements.

Welcome to TBN!! I am also a new tractor owner. I am envious of your array of implements. I spent all my money on my tractor to buy anything to use with it. But I'm saving up for new toys. Keep us posted about your adventures. I am particularly interested in how that Post-hole digger works for you. I am in the market for one myself and have been looking at Woods, Rhino, Landpride, and Bush Hog.

Once again, welcome.

Very nice. That's a very solid machine! Congratulations, enjoy, and be safe.

Did you have your tires filled?

Thanks Chuck!

My adventures are really about to begin. We've have about 6 acres and are about to start building a house on it. Old cow pasture so several of the acres will see a lot of the cutter. We're getting ready to plant about 50 Thuja Green Giants at one end of the lot so looking forward to trying out the PHD! Never owned nor operated one so I'm looking forward to the adventure! I'm not sure of the various "brands" as my local dealer sells primarily the Bush Hog brand but I'll keep you posted!

Hi Bob! Thanks for the welcome!

They were suppose to fill the tires! I was so happy to have it I forgot to ask! I'll give 'em a call and find out!

Welcome and congrats on the new tractor, I too am a L2800 owner and just a note when you disengage the pto just flip the lever to disengage or you will hear the overrun clutch chatter, it doesn't hurt anything, just noisy, not unless it has the mod for more hydraulic fluid to quiten it down.

Thanks for the welcome and the info!

Is the mod something I will/would have to do or something Kubota recognized and changed?

Also - 4WD - I haven't been on the tractor but for just an hour or so bush-hogging. And I haven't completely gone through all the manuals. Is the 4WD on all the time or does it have to be engaged?

Thanks again!

There is a lever for the four wheel drive and if you don't need it for the work you are doing it is wise to disengage it.

I haven't completely gone through all the manuals

Try to do that as soon as possible. Tractors and their implements are incredibly dangerous, kill and cripple several people every year, unless you are thoroughly familiar with the equipment and its hazards and never get complacent or careless.

Have no fear! The tractor manual (beyond basic operation) and the FEL manual are the last manuals to finish. Have read all the others as I have no experience with the attachments I bought. Won't have a chance to go use it again until this Saturday and will have everything locked into memory by then!

And I can't wait til Saturday!!!

HA!! They are coming! Figure I'll shoot some Saturday before getting it all dirty. Gotta do something about all the red I'm towing, with all the Bush Hog painted red! Glad to see there are LOTS of "orange paint" threads!

Photos - Forgot my wife came out last week and took a couple with her camera phone. So not the best quality, but will do for now (and if someone would be so kind as to tell me in non-technical wording how to link to the pics instead of inserting, I would appreciate it!)

NOTE - Tractor was shut off during this time. I have not and will not drive around with my 1 year old in my lap!

To make your pictures a link, when you type what you want in this dialogue box, then before clicking on "Submit Reply" or "Preview Post", scroll down a bit to the box that says "Attach Files" and click on "Manage Attachments". That will bring up a new screen so you can "Browse" your computer to find the file (picture) you want, click on it, then click on "Upload", then click on "Close This Window" in the upper right corner and click on "Submit Reply" to post your message with the picture as an attachment or link. And I think that's the way I do it.:)

Welcome to the tractorbynet! And I must say you look like one proud dad and tractor owner............

Be extra careful with the implements and hooking them up! Time is always on your side so use as much as you need.
