How come Mahindra dealers never even quote MSRP on the web? Most other dealers at least provide MSRP so you have a working ball park as to what implements and tractors will cost. It is kind of a pain in the neck forcing the consumer to make calls to dealers all the time.

Mahindra has heard you and plans to start listing MSRP on the MUSA website soon.

Is it my imagination or is mahindra really stepping up their customer experience lately? I've been looking at tractors for two years and reading this site for almost as long and it seems like there is a trend. Or perhaps it is because I was reading more about the orange guys until the Max series was announced.

Better late than never, if they actually do it, long term. As I recall, Mahindra previously listed MSRP prices on their website, but for whatever bone-headed reason, they decided to stop listing them several years ago.

When I purchased my Mahindra back in '06 they were posting list price. Kubota wasn't, so I had to visit a dealer to find out Kubotas' price. I almost didn't consider the Mahindra because it was priced a lot higher on line and I wasn't very familiar with the brand other than some radio ads I had heard. I would of had to get the loader for free and them some. Fortunately I had a close Mahindra dealer when I did a dealer search. I checked them out, liked what I saw and ended up getting a quote about the same price as the Kubota. Kubota was offering 0% interest while Mahindra was 1.9%. So the dealercut the price a little more to cover my interest. I still like to see some pricing on line, but you MUST visit a dealer for final pricing before you can make a decision on any brand you may or may not even have considered!

Hate to break this to you, but they both have the same engine under the hood. One is rated at 28HP, the other at 25HP at 100 less rpm if I recall correctly. Both are Mitsubishi S3L2. I bet they are real close in HP at the same RPM if we put them on the dyno.
Dave, something enables the 28XL loader to lift over 350 lbs. more than the 2516. What is that feature, and where is it located on the tractor? The 28XL even has lower pump output. This is confusing.

They switched from the ML105 loader to the ML205 about the time they switched the 2516 to a Max 28. Slightly larger rams on the ML205 gives more capacity. It would surprise me if the pumps were different, but I haven't checked that.

Keep in mind that pump volume does not affect strength, just speed. Pressure affects strength.

Would it be possible to install larger rams on my ML106 to increase the lift capacity?

Back in the day, the 3015 was made and shared the same frame as the 2615, and it came with a ML110 loader. That loader actually fit fine on the 2615 and lifted about 300 lbs more I think. It did have an extra frame brace. It lifted more because the rams were slightly larger.

So yes, a larger ram would work on your loader and it would lift more. But remember when you start engineering your own "improvements" you live with any consequences.

Keep in mind that going from a 2" cylinder to a 2.25" cylinder will make about a 250 lb increase in lift capacity on your loader. And going to a 2.5" cylinder will make probably a 650 lb increase. Since the radius is squared to get the cross sectional area, this is not linear. So don't get carried away or you will break things. And a larger cylinder requires more flow to extend at the same speed, so if you mess with this, a minimal increase gives more lift and adequate speed. A big increase makes the loader too slow and you break things.

Thanks Dave. When you take the time to answer these questions it is truly appreciated.

Nice to have a dealer go beyond lurking on the site now and then to reading, participating, and answering questions. Wish more dealers would be willing to exchange info and technical knowledge. My Deere dealer has always been very helpful and i am thankful he is located only 5 miles away as i visit often for fluids filters and accessories.
