New Kubota Web Sites!!!!

/ New Kubota Web Sites!!!! #21
That site looks like a way for Kubota to gather demographics of who is looking for what in each region. If they were serious the questionnaire would have far more questions, like gate sizes, turning radius needs, type of ground...could go on and on....maybe the folks here on TBN can come up with their most pressing need/want and judging how many people have the same needs they could take the top 20-30-40? and add them for a more accurate list. My top priority would be a good suspended rear discharge MMM. I doubt that will ever work though because it’s almost impossible for humans to recommend accurately, so a computer probably has less a chance. BTW...it recommended to me G-ZG-BX-B3030

Notice the story site starts with....
“I love my Kubota and here's my story.”

Kinda stacks things in their favor. Don’t get me wrong, the Kubota’s I’ve used I have been very impressed with, just a shame I cannot say the same about my regions dealers and how they operate their sales.

The tractor recomendation for me was a bx tractor I bought a bx22 back in 2003. I guess it was accurate for me. David

( I agree that the "Kubota Tractor Guide" could use a little work - it just recommended that I buy a JD 4720! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif )

CT, what are you complaining about, you like the 4720! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kubota's website needs to be updated and soon.

It recommended an M series for me. That's what I have anyway (M9000 and M105S).

However, I don't like the looks or the ergonomics of the new M Series. They look (outside) like a Kioti and inside there is way too much plastic and I don't like the location of the dash mounted ac outlets.

There is a growing trend toward the "Kioti" look across all lines but I prefer a square hood. The corner post mounted exhaust is nice but the hood mounted is really no detraction. Guess I'll keep what I have until I need them no more. I know they will last that long.

I have had 7 previous Kubota's and I have been happy with them all.

You've got that right Ed, I sure do - so I'm not really complaining, just a little surprised. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hmm, I just tried it again - I told it I had 0-2 acres and wanted to move light supplies, and it recommended an L5030 - so it seems to be working perfectly now. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

What a ridiculous tractor "guide". I said "I do not need to mow at this time" and it suggested three tractors.....two of which were mowing lawns.....one was a lawn mower /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I also said I don't want climate control and it showed a B3030 with a cab /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif -Not a good "algorithm" is being used here and a very poor tool for finding a machine.

It tells me I need one of the new M 40s. I'd agree if it had an HST. I just don't understand why they don't offer it on the M series.

Yeah... you can tell it that you need to dig with a backhoe and all the other things that only a tractor can do and it'll recommend a ZD ztr. Go figure... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

hayden:

In a nutshell....Too much horsepower equals too much heat. Same problem as IH had with their hydro farm tractor.

that website is a joke.
like the kubota dealer i bought from....
i live with the "wrong" tractor.
my own fault.....but i did tell the dealer what i do (construction) and he never told me about TLB's, sold me a CUT he had on the lot.
i did not know of TbyN at the time and blew it.
kubota has the opportunity to help newbies find the appropriate tractor with their new website, i hope for the sake of the future buyers the small minds will awaken.
thans for listening to me vent. sorry.
(my L4330 is great, by the way, but the L39 would have been the choice IF i had known it existed)

I have no problem with your rant. Matter of fact that's why I changed dealers for the M9. My previous 6 came from one dealer but he's lost sight ofwhat being in business is all about. I wish him all the best and maybe someday I'll buy his business for the right price of course. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But huge bull dozers are available with HST. If that works, why not a farm tractor?

International had hydros since the late-'60s. Hydros were great for certain applications like haying work, loader work, and planting. However, they weren't very fuel efficient in drawbar applications.

Fendt began offering an updated version of a 'hydro' called the Vario in the late '90s in Europe. Many companies develped similar transmissions for their row-crop tractors. These transmissions are a hydro-mechanical means of infinitely controlling ground speed while keeping fuel efficiency comparable to a power shift.

These new transmissions like Fendt's Vario, CaseIH's CVT, and Deere's IVT are the way of the future. In fact, I expect that we will see versions of these transmissions on compacts and utility tractors if they are cost effective.

In a previous life, I operated/tested hydro driven windrowers. Hydro was the DREAM of those machines. Dual Pumps/Dual Motors allowed the drive wheels to steer the machine, plus you had infinite control of speed forward or reverse.

The system was pretty bulletproof, as long as the oil was full and clean. You got some hydraulic "whine" from the driveline, but it was smooth!

About the same time, I operated an IH utility tractor (maybe 656) hydro. Loved the control of the hydro on it also, but can't speak to reliability/efficiency.

Have hydro on my BX, and love it also.
