2015 Kubota MX 5200 HST
I am new on this site and I recently traded my 2013 L3800 4wd HST for a 2015 mx 5200 4wd HST. This new tractor has the new emissions system on it. The problem Im having is that as I operate the tractor, and it gets up to operating temp, It begins to heat up the operators station alot!! I never had this problem with my L3800. I have put 10 hours (uncomfortable hours) on this new tractor and it operates in a normal engine temperature range, but it roasts my feet and legs. I was wondering if anybody else has had this issue. I believe that the problem stems from this new emissions system (super heating the exhaust). Any info would be appreciated.

Actually many things done for emissions control reduce exhaust temp. High combustion temperatures result in higher NOX so they recirculate exhaust gas to keep the combustion temperature down. However most Tier 4 final engines have higher heat rejection so the cooling fan is blowing a lot more air to cool the engine and if not ducted properly, you can get more of that air blast. In addition you replaced a 38 HP tractor with a 52 HP tractor which alone adds to the heat rejection.

Complain to the dealer. If they get enough complaints, Kubota might do something about it.

Think you're hot, look at arctic melt. Emission controls are necessary and overdue.

Neither of the last 2 posts have any info that is pertinent to the question asked by the poster.

If you are unable to do more than post comments that pertain to your own personal agenda and provide no useful info to a poster's question then you should find a more suitable site as it is unfair to those who have legitimate questions.

The engine is in front of you. The transmission is under you. If your feet are getting hot I would start looking in the transaxle area for what is causing it to get so hot. Have you actually placed your hand on the transaxle when experiencing the high heat? I would find the cause of the problem before operating it much more. Have you felt of the transaxle coolant radiator to see how hot it is? Not the tractor radiator the other one, the small one.

Oh boy are you in trouble now. You have mentioned two no-no's in one post.

Welcome to TBN. Ignore the useless posts; and since your tractor is new bring your concerns to your selling dealer. There maybe something amiss that they can remedy for you. Report back results.
