futuresweets10,

Make darn sure you do your housekeeping before you install that pump (i.e. clean out tank, rag clean if possibe, check for and clean out suction strainer, new hyd oil & filters), and most important.....fill case port on side of pump...not doing so will trash this replacement piston pump very quickly!!!!!

Piston Pumps need cleaner oil than most systems so beware!!!!

If you can't find the case port, ask somebody.....very important!!!

-The tank has been off for about a year so I had planned on cleaning it out the best I could, but I dont really have any idea how I am going to do it because it has the fluid outlet ports and the small fill cap on top an no other access.

-No could what a suction strainer is or what to look for, any tips.

- I had already planned on changing hydraulic filter (will there only be one?)

-Someone earlier posted that I should get as much fluid out of the cylinders as possible, which line do I loosen, and do I just pop the line loose and move the cylinder to drain them?

-as far as the case port goes, is this port just basically there to fill the pump so it isnt dry when it starts, or is there more to it?

Does anyone know what type of hydraulic fluid I may need for this machine?
